Keith Wymer

Keith Wymer joins the Kansas City Symphony for the 2023-2024 season. This marks his sixth season with the orchestra, having previously served from 2013-2017 and 2021-2022.

Originally from Portland, Oregon, Keith maintains a diverse career performing in both Kansas City and the Pacific Northwest. In addition to his duties with the KC Symphony, he also serves as Principal Bass of the Eugene Symphony. Other appearances have included the Britt Music Festival, New World Symphony, Aspen Music Festival, National Repertory Orchestra, National Orchestral Institute, and various orchestras across the Midwest. An enthusiastic teacher, he has previously served as Instructor of Double Bass at the UMKC Conservatory and currently maintains an active private teaching studio.

Keith studied at the University of North Texas and Indiana University, where his primary teachers were Jeff Bradetich and Bruce Bransby. He was fortunate to receive additional guidance from Christopher Hanulik, Owen Lee and William Clay.
